merc 2.5L v6

hey.....<br /><br />what are the years and hp for the famous 2.5 v6 mercs that i ALWAYS see performance parts for.<br /><br />i see parts all the time and articles about them and story of people using them, but all they say about the motor is that they are 2.5L merc v6, no year or hp ratings<br /><br />im in the market for a 225hp v6 and this seems as though it may fit the bill.<br /><br />mike

so after two days, nobody can tell me anything about a merc 2.5 liter v6?

2.5L's started back in the 90's. They came in the 175, and 200 hps. Some 225's were tried but are fewer. The 225's and bigger today use a 3.0L block. They still use the same 2.5 today. I have been told they are great, but I have blown them up just like the 2.4's....
