Hi, I just bought a mercury 25hp long shaft motor thats in good condition. I was looking for the serial number to get the correct replacent parts and noticed the ID. plate is missing. all thats left is the holes in the tramson bracket where it used to be. My question is: is there anywhere on this motor that the serial number is beside the transome bracket? I was told it was a 1989 by the previous owner. I need to order parts and a manual and I'v not sure what to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated.....Rich
