2000 Merc 40hp 3 Cylinder Poor Water Flow

My engine barely dribbles water out the telltale port at idle and has a modest stream under power. Is this likely the impellar going bad or something else? Any thing to watch under disassembly or make reassembly easier?<br /><br />Thanks

Most likely the impeller. Good practice to change them every couple of years as cheap insurance against burning up the motor. One of the simpler DIY projects on a motor but invest in a manual first. Also do a search (red SEARCH) near top of page) for impeller replacement and read the posts. Much info available from users that have gone through this already.
