I own a Mercury 25 (s/n 0G003199) manual start. I recently purchased a battery charging kit part# 62351A10 from a Mercury dealer. Problem is there is suppose to be two wires that connect to the newly installed rectifier coming from the stator or altenator. One wire should be yellow and the other should be either yellow or grey according to the instructions. Those wires do not exist on my motor. Do I need to purchase any other parts to make this kit work? Does a manual start 25 have a stator/generator installed from the factory?

you also need a Lighting coil kit for the smaller manual start engines

How could I get a part # for this part? Are there any aftermarket parts manufacturers for this type of part?

Re: Mercury battery charging kit

Any idea why Mercury would create a "battery charging kit" and leave a part as significant as the lighting coil out of it? That part isn't even listed in the inventory of the kit.

Re: Mercury battery charging kit

The merc dealer you got the battery charging kit from should be able to get the number for you. I don't know about a after market kit. as for the reason merc makes a "2 part" battery charging kit...your guess is as good as mine????

If you can't find the number, Let me know and I'll see what my sources can find.
