Does anyine know the year?
Ultimately i need to track down a wiring diagram
i was told it was a blue band with a thunderbolt ignition.

I just purchased a boat with a 50 hp Mercury Engine (brown stripes on cowling) 4 cylinder engine, Ser# A188793. This is the only number on the stamped metal placard on the engine mount. Does anyone know the year?

Here is a link to most of the Mercury outboard line up search for your serial number in the list and it should tell you what the year is. I have used this site several times and have always been able to find my years.

I have a 50 Mercury (500) Ser# 7097653 and is Canadian.

Just new to the sport and wow lots of questions, but I will keep it simple for now.
I would like to know what is the fuel mixture recommondation and can this year of a 50 Mercury be equipped with a Speedometer? Trust me any other information you would like to share would be great.
