Hi all, 1st boat!

Hello all. I bought my first boat this August and have had it on the water almost every weekend since! She's a 14' aluminum v-hull with a 9.5 hp Evinrude. My two daughters (5 & 8) have had almost as much fun as I have. She's a great little fishing boat named "Dead Phish". We mainly fish for crappie but always enjoy a fight from a catfish or bass. I grew up fishing in a boat just like this one with my Dad as the Captain. Now, as Captain of the Dead Phish, I welcome any advice/tips. Short term plans are fixing a small hull leak and a fresh paint job. "Up with courtesy ,respect and obeying ALL creel limits and fishing/bating regulations!"

Welcome to iboats Fisherman Jeff! As a young lad I went on plenty of fishing trips in Kansas in a boat about that same size.<br /><br />The only advice I have is that these forums are a great place to learn more about boating, fishing, outboards, boating safety and all kinds of things. Due to the collective knowledge of long-time boaters this is a good place to be.<br /><br />Enjoy the boat and take plenty of pictures of the kids. I wish I had more of me boating and fishing on those lakes years ago with my dad.

All the fishing I have done with my gradpa has been on that exact set-up........enjoy it
