Now this is what I call running on the pad. Now this boat is dialed in. Smart Tabs wouldnt help this boat on top end.<br /><br />

Suposidly somewhere around 95 MPH!!! <br /><br />Afew more runs like that and he will be totally bald.

A close friend has an Allison with a 250hp Merc, fastest run was 96, tipicaly 93/94. <br /><br />He's almost bald too.

I get goose bumps just seeing a pic like that... <br />My brain fills in the rest - sound of the engine peaking, tears in the eyes getting whipped back the side of my face, the feeling of a bug smacking my forehead, the machine-gun rat-tat-tat of any little waves hitting what little of the boat is still in the water. <br />Winter sucks....<br />- Scott

Ya, I feel the same, that picture is a picture of perfection, roostertail even with the top of the engine cover and all. I think I see why boats that fast can have chine walk and its not a set up problem! Im not an engineer, but wouldnt it benifit to build in a bit wider pad, like maybe flat all the way accross the back for the last foot or so? I guess that alone would slow the boat down some.

Actually when I posted that it was a flipant remark, but now that I think about it, at 95 MPH, there would have to be a bit of lift with tabs hanging down, maybe they would actually make it just a bit faster after all.

He could add hydrofoils to each side of the hull to create a little more stern lift and stop chinewalking. Kinda like training wheels.

Took a few gentle laps to get the feel of the hull then lit into it for a straightaway. The boat popped up about a foot and rode on the gearcase bullet with the hull riding free and clear. Had to burp the air out of the air traps before attempting a turn or it would just go straight... Theres a bullet here thats been clocked at 97mph,thats fast.never seen a pic like that very cool,i've been in a boat running high 70's great for the driver but not for the passenger if ya know what i mean.

it might sound silly but that boat is actually flying.. there certainly aint enough hull in the water to support bugger all.. so it must be relying on lift from the hull pretty much like an airplne wing..<br /><br />the only thought that goes thru my mind is.. so at what point does that frontal lift from the airflow get a little too much and the whole lot just flips over backwards with one dead driver..??<br /><br />kinda hard to do a test run and find out.. he he he<br /><br />trog

Its interesting to see Chinewalker wearing a survival suit and helmet doing 60mph , but yet the larger boat with the massive Mercury flying at 90mph+ has a driver wearing only a life jacket. Doesn't make much sense. Cool picture though!

I would'nt be in that boat of chimwalkers without the suit.The dude in the pics is in a bass boat,that boat chime is in barely 12' more like 10'.Not that being in a bass boat is any sfer at those speeds.
