I'll be replacing my switch box for the above engine. The part number on the current switch box is 332-7778A10. When I search for this part another website says that I should use a CD/Rapair 114-7778R2, but it also says that it is for an inline 6 motor; I have a V6. Does anyone know the differences between these 332-7778Axx/114-7778xx switch boxes? The 332-7778A10/114-7778R2 switch boxes seem to be more expensive than the others, and I wouldn't mind getting something cheaper if it'll work as well.

You're comparing RAPAIR numbers to factory numbers. RAPAIR switchboxes are repaired factory switchboxes. The V-6s and inline 6s use the same switchboxes for the most part. I believe newer ones than yours have overrev protection. Each switchbox controls 3 cylinders. If replacing one
switchbox doesn't cure your problem, try replacing the one that seems good instead. The internal circuitry can cause strange things to happen to the spark.

Is this true? I though CDI/RAPAIR made their own products from scratch. I know the stators are that way.

andy

The 114-7778 R2 boxs are for high preformance engines that operate at over 8000RPM
