A freind's linkage is way out of whack on her boat....2001 Triumph/Logic w/ 2001 60 HP Mercury. She had a major structural issue with the boat that Triumph/Logic fixed under the lifetime warranty, and I am pretty sure they would of had to strip boat and rerig it. They are down in NC, so taking it back to them to fix what appears to be their f up is not really viable.

The shifter is WAYYYY off....actual neutral is ½ throttle reverse. Throttle works fine.....neutral is idle speed.
Took the cover off engine, see that the lower unit shift linkage is not bent or anything, and see that the shift cable (bottom)appears to be way short. No problem, just need to lengthen the cable via the adjustment. Take cables off....adjust shift cable as long as possible....and it's still not nearly long enough. You can't screw the cable out anymore...run out of threads.

OK. evidently i am working on the wrong end, so BajaPower and I take the console remote apart to see what adjustment is there (I still need at least ¾"). Took off the big flat plastic sideplate opposite shifter, looked at the gears and cogs, but did not see any way to adjust cable on that end.

WTF is up?

The cables weren't replaced, the throttle is fine....and I see no way to gain any more length on either end.

Eggbeater gurus, any idea?

It's this model, BTW
