I have experienced a problem starting my 200 hp Optimax on mornings with the temperature near freezing. The motor turns over but does not start. I have 2 cranking batteries (brand new and 1 year old)and fresh fuel. I have Guest chargers on the batteries prior to trying to start the motor and during the starting process. I have to wait 30-40 minutes before the motor will start (then runs fine), if it starts. I have a new spark plug. Any suggestions are appreciated as I sit on the dock during the fish run. Many thanks,

Re: Optimax cold starting problem

You have a fuel and air injected engine. If either or both fuel and air pressure is low during cranking, you get a "no start".
