STARTS WELL. RUNS OK UNTIL i THROW THE THROTTLE FORWARD. mOTOR RUNS STRONG ...BUT SEEMS LIKE THE BOAT LOOSES THRUST? wHEN I SLOWLY MOVE THROTTLE FORWARD IT GOES OKAY. BUT WHEN I GIVE HER GAS BOAT OR SHOULD I SAY THE PROP SEEMS NOT TO MOVE ?<br /> <br />ALSO... WHEN THE MOTOR IS OFF.. I PUT THE MOTOR IN FORWARD GEAR. IT WILL SPIN CLOCK WISE BUT IT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND.. I DO THE SAME IN REVERSE AND AM UNABLE TO SPIN AT ALL. I SPIN IT WITH MY HAND.motor not running. does this sound weird? need help

Sounds like the prop hub is slipping

The ratcheting is perfectly normal. Prop ventilation can be a problem if there is something that is distrubing water flow at the back of the boat. Did you recently add a transducer or something else to the back of the boat near the center line? To check the prop, put a mark on the hub. Put another mark on the outer part of the prop in-line with the first mark. Run the engine until you notice the problem. If the two lines are no longer lined up, the hub is slipping inside the prop. It needs to be repaired or you need a new prop.
