Re: Mercury 20H pistons and rings
You can use the "flat top" pistons out of a later model 40-cubic inch powerhead, such as the Mark 35A, c. 1959, and Merc 300, c. 1960.

Are you looking for oversize or standard? My '64 parts list doesn't list that as a part number for a 20H piston. It lists piston 726-1611A4 as standard (rings 39-20058), and piston 726-1612A1 as .015 oversize (rings 39-20992). My list doesn't show a .030, but I know they were available...

Years ago I bought a Mark 35A powerhead that had been rebuilt with .015 oversize pistons top to bottom. I've long since used the pistons or traded them off, but it goes to show that sometimes you get lucky...
- Scott
