Hey guys can anyone out there please help me.<br />I have a blue band 85hp merc with thunderbolt ignition sn#8017434 can <br />anyone please tell me what year it is

It is an 8, which matches the Australian numbers.<br /><br />85 (850) (4 cyl.)<br /><br />USA s/n 3665695 to 4092964<br />AUS s/n 8017140 to 8025164<br /><br />Circa 1974<br /><br />Thats my best guess.

hey rick thanks for your search,but whilst looking at some other forums i came across a link and it took me straight to the page i was looking for.its a 1974 australian built thats why the sn begins with a 8.the sn8017140 starts at 1974.thanks again 4 your help
