Runs at low speed, "cuts out" at high speed (Yam 25HP 4s)

2001 Yamaha 25 HP 4 stroke-on the first use this summer (with fresh gas) it will run fine at idle<br /> and slightly above idle but when I speed up it starts to "bump" and then skip and finally cuts<br /> out and sounds like it is running on one cylinder. What is it?

had same problem thought it was the gas but ending up being my stator was only putting put half as any volts as needed try testing it or get it tested
