rpm counter wiring

How do I connect my rpm counter with my yamaha 40hp 3 cyl autolube 1996 model, the ****er has three connections. I would like to do it my self so step by step would be of grat help!<br />Thanks in advance.

dude<br /> ya gotta learn to post all information. if using all original yammi stuff it just plugs together.<br /> but the wire colors are as follows. green from the keyswitch or pigtail from the control box is the S or sender wire. black is ground. yellow is 12v positive with key on. red is 12v positive with battry switch on.so yellow to ign. green to send, black to ground. tach pole setting is for 4 pole. dont confuse poles with pulsesor number of cylinders.is this enough or do you need more information? <br /> good luck and keep posting
