Hi, Shoalwater.<br /><br />Get a voltmeter and measure the voltage at the battery and at the starter when you jump it.<br /><br />If the battery voltage (measured from + to - posts) drops below about 9volts the battery is bad.<br /><br />If the voltage at the starter(measured from + input post on the starter to engine block) is over about 11 volts the starter is bad.<br /><br />If neither of these tests indicate a problem clean the connections or replace both the +12volt cable and the ground cable from the battery to the engine.<br /><br />Let us know what you find. Checked out volts as told. Put a new battery seems to be ok, but kind of a hesitation right at first.Started serveral times seemsto be ok.THANKS for the help.This is a really good web site if your mechanicly inclined.
