I have a 1979 5hp suzuki spirit.
The motor starts good and runs for a while, then the carb starts overflowing with gas.I checked the gasket and replaced it.
I was wondering if the float is set to high.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I am also looking for a carb kit.
Does anybody know of a good site to buy buy parts from.

I would guess the needle valve tip or the seat has some debris. floats dont reset themselves. this is usually a problem that occurs after sitting.
good luck and keep posting

A good source for online parts is www.brownspoint.com you can also download an exploded parts diagram. Sounds like your carb needs to come off and get a new float valve. Make sure the float is still "floating" too.

Thanks fellow boaters.
I found the float was adjusted to high.
After adjusting it the motor ran fine.
I guess the guy I bought it from had problems too.
But just put up with it.
Thanks for info.
