So I just put a 150 HP Yamaha on my Starcraft Islander 190V with 43 gallon taqnk in floor, then I installed a water separator/10 micron fuel filter. It ran real well when I hooked it up, but this weekend on a fishing trip, when I powered it up, it planed off nicely. Then it died after 2 or 3 minutes, and the primer bulb got sucked completely flat. If I let it idle for a few minutes, it will plane off again. I removed and checked the fuel pick up tube that the outlet fitting is attached to and was able to blow through it both ways easily. I checked the vent by placing my hand under it while I was gassing up and felt air rushing out the vent so I assume the vent is OK. I hooked up a remote tank to the motor and it ran just fine. Any ideas what to do to resolve this? Do I need a new bulb? Should I replace all fuel lines again?(just did last year). I am at my wit's end - all I want to do is fish and pull my kids around the lake. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
bill
