I do have a question for you experienced yamahaulers....I have a 1998 c115tlrw 2-stroke. Steady alarm from Throttle control box came on. Figured engine was getting hot, so, replaced impeller. Went for run, beeper came on after 30-40 minutes of running fairly hard. Felt heads, not that hot. Second trip, took temp/laser gun with me. Ran wot, head temps varied from 103-112 degrees. One sider warmer than other. No alarm came on second trip. Alarm seems to be inconstistent. Does the water ever get warm in the pee stream exiting the engine? Also, there is a hard plastic white hose exiting one the heads that is not attached to anything and hot water pours from it inside the cowling. Is this supposed to be connected somewhere?

Check the cooling loops for blockages. Had a similar problem and tech found a fat shred of fiber tape got sucked into an inlet port. It could be rolling around in there get caught and then roll around some more, making the problem intermittent. I HATE intermittent problems, much prefer mittent ones. Good luck.

I don't know the details on your particular engine but I am going to go out on a limb and say that the white plastic hose connected to you cylinder head should NOT be spewing hot water on your engine underneath the cowling. Check around and look for a nipple or something that it should be connected to. It shouldn't be hard to find.

the yamaha water pressure tubing is white plastic. does your rig have a water pressure gauge? the tap for it is a plug on the top of the block near the head. in anycase its not supposed to spray water. that alone can cause piston siezure.<br /> good luck and keep posting

Make sure You don't have a bad Temp sensor. One by one remove the pink wire till the alarm goes out. One on each cyl. head. Think pink.

Your Right C version. I hate the C engine. I can never find the oil pump on them.

Thanks a bunch for the info guys. There is no water pressure gauge, but maybe the previous owner had one. I'll remove the hose.
