how do i wire the tach so it will light with the rest of my engine instraments?

It is the digital yamaha tach.

Attaching the blue wire from the tach to the same color wire in the Yamaha harness under the dash will do it. If it has been wired with an after market harness, use the same lead from the harness going to the other instrument lights.

thanks for the help, but i still am confused. I have a yamaha harness and a yamaha tach. I also have a instrament light switch that will light my volt meter and my fuel gauge. so my question is how do i wire the tach so it will light when i turn on my other instraments.

Attach the blue wire coming from the tach to the hot wire coming from the switch. The light will then come on when you activate the switch.
