I own a 1993 Yamaha 225 with carbs what brand of 2 stroke oil do most of you run, I have been running Penzoil Semi Synthetic. With oil injection does it make a difference what you use and does all 2 stroke oils use the same amount to get 50:1 ratio?

I have a '93 Yamaha 250, when I bought it the dealer said to use only Yamalube. I don't know why, but it made sense (same manufacturer). When I moved the boat to another marina, they were Yamaha dealers too, they said the same thing. I buy it in bulk (two gallon container) from the dealer who buys it in drums, for a good price. Don't know why! But I didn't want to mess with what I didn't know!
Of course…..<br />The dealer can’t say anything else. He is obliged to tell you to use Yamalube.<br /><br />Quiksilver Optimax DFI is one of the best 2-stroke oil in the world for injection engine independent off engine factory.
I think that you can use any oil that meets the specs; in this case it's TWC-3 oil isn't it?<br /><br />I've heard that it's very important to not mix sythetics with natural oils - use either one or the other
