You may be describing a lean idle mixture. 2-strokes will "sneeze" if the idle mixture is too lean. The idle air screws in the holes in the airbox will richen the mixture if you screw them in a 1/4 turn each. Or you may be due for a carb rebuild. The Mikuni carbs like to be clean inside. If choking helps on the drift restarts that confirms a lean condition. If your "squeek" is not a "sneeze" you may have something else going on there (boat rodents maybe  )

I leaned my suzuki out a bit to much and it sounded like a bronchial wheeze.

Re: suzuki 85 oil injected

I tried it yesterday the whole engine sounds better
it played up only once at the end of the day after a lot of slow trolling and drifting but I think the problem is resolved
I only have this motor a few weeks and when I spoke to the guy I bought it off he said he ran it on high octane fuel I used regular so that probably explains
it thanks for your help
ps botany bay fished poorly on friday (for me anyway)

Don't know what kind of fuel octane grades you have there Down Under but that engine does not require high octane. It will run fine on regular petrol and I do not believe the change in octane fixed your problem. If the problem reoccurs the engine probably just needs a tune up. Go to the bottom of this web page and order a manual. Keep an eye on regular maintenance for your fuel system. Good luck.

I didnt change fuel grade, adjusting the mix like you said gave me the result,
I thouht that if the previos owner had it adjusted to suit a premium petrol then normal unleaded would make it run lean, but your right Ill get hold of a manual,
thanks again for your help
