Anyone contemplating buying Suzuki, DON'T. I have brand new motors with severe paint flaking problems. Suzuki doesn't do any warranty on paint flaking and it is severe. Suzuki basically told me to blow it out my porthole, sucker. I only have 150 hours on my motors, A fuel pump cracked on my engines, and despite the fact I have RACOR water fuel separators they told me I got water in my pump and therefore when it froze it cracked. SO IT WAS ALL MY FAULT AGAIN. I don't see any zinc chromate undercoating on these engines. It just looks like one layer of black paint. I'm painting them and dumping them if I can and switching to a single 300 HP Yami. Yamaha proudly advertises their anti-corrosion paint process and you can be sure I'm sending all the majors pictures of the crappola Suzuki sells. Call me the BIG FISH that took the Suzuki hook. Please learn from my mistakes ( 2 140 HP Suzuki's) and buy quality, Yamaha. I never had anything like this from my Yamaha and Johnson outboards I've owned.

What do we tell the thousands of happy Suzi owners, Gasser?

I would like to hear Suzuki's side of that story, because I never got anything but top notch service from their products and their organization.

I really like my Johnson/Suzuki, maybe its the white paint. FYI there have been issues with the 300's also. Good luck.

I have a DF90 and am very happy with it. Also, I do quite a bit of fishing in the brackish water of the Ten Thousand Isle in Fl and see several other boats with Suz's all the time. Nothing but good comments. Every mfg of anything will have issues on an individual item from time to time. Doesn't mean all are bad.
