I am going to an in water open house boat show to test ride a boat i want to purchase. Its a 2006 Pro-Line 21 foot Center Console with a 2006 Suzuki 150 4 stroke. It comes with a ttop and the dealer quoted me a price of $33,800. Is this about what these boats go for or am i getting robbed? Thanks for the info!

Nothing like shopping around a little for any major purchase. Watch the prices drop when you say you just looked at something else, somewhere else. ;)

I like Cobra's post. Check against prices for brands like Century, Key West, Sea Hunt, Sea-Pro, and Wellcraft.

Kelly Cook

i haven't checked out century or key west but i got a quote from sea hunt and it was about the same just a yamaha engine. The sea pro quote was a couple thousand more. Is Pro-Line just as good as these other boats?

The Pro-Line is a nice looking boat. Sea trials are your best bet for a few comparable boats. See which one performs best for what you plan to do with the boat.

Re: Good deal Proline?

Last May I bought a used 21' Proline Cuddy/walk w/ 150Hp Merc outboard and believe me it is a rocket on the open ocean. Yesterday I took a recon-order trip from San Diego to Ensenada Mexico ~ 60 miles with one stop in a town called Las Salina. The ocean was like glass on the way down but a wind chop was growing on the return trip w/ a growing swell. Stayed dry the enite trip. My neighbor was my first mate and he owns a 20' Blackman center console was amazed at how dry the boat is and how comfortable a ride it was considering the size of the vessel and the wind chop. All I can say is Proline makes a fine ocean vessel and highly recommend Proline.

For the record the vessel was $27k new back in 99' w/ a trailer and bimini, previous owner is a good friend and gave me all of the original paper work.

The only negative I will say on the Proline is the color. It is such a bright shade of white with a tint of blue ,it would make any gelcoat repairs impossible to match or should I say closely match. No gelcoat repair is ever matched perfect but this color would be the toughest to match.

A large part of that price will be transport charges, but I personally think a ProLine is a superlative craft. I may be slightly prejudiced since they are made locally here, and don't know if they are connected or not but also built very near the Stamas plant.

Re: Good deal Proline?

Well i gave it a test ride over the weekend and I bought it. Came with a Hard T-Top, all the cushions, upgraded leaning post, 175hp Suzuki 4 Stroke, bumpers, 1 yr of sea tow, full tank of gas and a Venture Trailer. He only charged 2100 for the trailer and the total came out to be 32,000. I believe i got a pretty good deal compared to the other quotes i have recieved. Thanks for all your imput!
