carberation problems

Hi new to forums hope this comes our all right.<br />1999 yamaha 25 4 stroke <br />Recently got allot of water in gas tank tried to run the engine and it stalled.<br />Replaced gas, gas filter flushed lines.<br />Drained bowl in carb just undid the screw and flushed out the bowl with carb cleaner this got rid of allot of sluge.<br />Engine still does not run right idles ok somtimes.<br />Mid range runs rough and stalls.<br />High range it runs fine. <br />Somtimes it runs well but i have to partially block air intake.<br />What do you folks think ?<br />Rebuild carb or is it a automatic choke problem ?<br />Or is it somthing else i have not though about? <br />thanks mitir

rebuild the carb. the tiny passages are clogged. most times you can remove the carb and fuel bowl and spray it out and reassemble it. other times ya gotta buy the gasket kit

THANKS THATS WHAT I FIGURED <br />ANY OTHER TIPS ABOUT REBUILDING THE CARBERATOR

Yeah I gotta tip for ya ...always bring some sap with you to row that 6 tons of whaler around when your motor fails...it's better if he has to row against a 20 knot head wind.....good exercise<br /> :D <br />Seb

The problem there ,rodbolt is that I was that passenger :( altho I will say Cap'n Mike did more than his fair share of pulling on the oars.<br />I think I need a brother in law with a newer boat...of course that's what he's saying too... ;) <br />Seb
