Looking for procedure to replace trim seals on rams of 96 225 SWS. What is the best way to position the motor and also the proper method to bleed/fill the system when seals in. I think I can get a spanner wrench to get the seals off. I already have the seals also, What's the proper fluid to repace.
Thanks

Re: Yamaha trim seals

lock the motor in the up position. remove the caps, some caps have a wire seal retainer, replace the seal and if used cap oring and replace the cap to cyl oring and reinstall using the correct torque. refill in the up position with dexronIII and cycle the system, its self bleeding.
check/fill in the full up position.

I have the same problem with my 2000 Yamaha 90. I ordered the seals and a spanner wench. One question. Do you have to let the pressure off the cylinder before you take the caps off ??

start another thread, but no you dont have to bleed anything, You do need to look at the manual. some of the 3cyl units had piston retract springs and will toss the cap at you.
