I have a 1999 Yamaha 200 OX66. It runds fine until I get on a plane. I replaced the water pump kit thinking it may not be pushing water to the top of the engine but the problem continues. Any suggestions?

Do you have a good flow from your tell-tale? Thermostats changed? Pressure relief valve not obstructed? Is this a new problem? Anything new hangin off the back of your boat, like a transducer?

Re: TEMP ALARM

It is definitely the temp light that comes on. I have replaced the water pump kit, the thermostats, and this is a new problem. Where is the presure relief valve.....I have removed the head covers for cleaning today.

Re: TEMP ALARM

if the t-stats and water pump are good, and the presure valve is clean then next step is head and watercover removal.<br /> the pressure control valve is low on the stbd side of the ex cover.

What do you recommend to use to clean the build-up on the head?

pressure control valve is clear, so I guess I will just clean the heads and head covers and reassemble and see what happens.

Re: TEMP ALARM

I used a pressure washer and the heads and head covers cleaned nicely. Any other advice before I put it all back together?
