5 H.P. SEA KING MOTOR

I HAVE A WARDS SEA KING 5 H.P. MOTOR THAT A FRIEND GAVE ME IT DOESNT RUN IT DOESNT HAVE SPARK BUT IT HAS GOOD COMPRESSION.THE PROBLEM IS WHERE DO I GET PARTS FOR THIS AT. I TOLD SOMEONE THE MODEL # AND THEY TOLD ME THAT ITS NOT A SEA KING MOTOR.IT HAS A SEAKING HOOD ON IT THE PULL START CHOKE SWITCH AND THE THROTTLE ALL LINE UP WITH THE HOOD PERFECTLY BUT THE TAG ON THE FRAME SAYS CLINTON ENGINE CORP MODEL# J500-1106C THE SERIAL# IS 374613 AND THE TYPE# IS XTV27005B CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT KIND OF MOTOR THIS IS WHAT YEAR IT IS AND WHERE I CAN GET PARTS FOR IT.ID LOVE TO HAVE THIS THING RUNNING FOR SPRING.

I too, have a Wards Sea King mfg. by Clinton Engine Corp. I used to get ing. parts from a small engine parts house. Yesterday in answer to one of my posts a man gave me an address that will help us both.{ I thought Clinton was out of business}.<br /><br />Clinton Engine Corp.<br />605 E. This is a Clinton Engine Corp. Update.

I tried the 319 number shown in the previous posts and didn't get anywhere. Contacted Directory Assistance and got a new address and phone number.

The new number is 563-652-2411.

I couldn't get all of the address, but it is in the same town and the street number is 22563.

Just an FYI since i am working on replacing an impeller in my SeaKing (Clinton) 5 hp motor.

Hopefully I'll get some positive end results, since it runs good.

Don't know if this is of any help, But my Monty Ward Sea KIng 5hp is made buy Gale. I've got the motor and manual. PM with ?'s.

Does anyone have a manual and/or skematic of the Clinton version? I'm looking for the J500 1106C details. I'm not sure I understand exactly how to pull the power head to get to the impellor.

In my opinion the Clinton and Eska motor are unreliable marginal performers.
Not worth much investment in time or money.You only need to remove the gearcase to do the pump.A nut in the exhaust snout and under a cover in front just under the antivent(cavition)plate.

I also have 5 hp, made by Gale 1945 model. Was wondering about the gas if it is mixed with the oil and so on. Sorry I cannot help with the 12 HP

Yes, mix TCW-3 marine oil with your unleaded gas to get the right mix for your 45 Gale 5 hp Sea King...24:1. Stuffmart has a mixing bottle with all the ratios, for about $3.
