Isn't this the same motor you've been tinkering with over the last year? Class action suit? You've got to be kidding. Take responsibility for your own actions. Are you going to join that guy who's sueing Mc Donalds cause hes fat? True this particular motor has its problems but can be a very reliable engine with the proper attention. Part er out and buy your Honda, mabey you can be happy with it

Interesting. I have yet to hear anything positive about the Force motors.

Well demesy the difference is this sucker is like new looking inside and out. Very low hours never has idled well seen many 120hp do much much better than mine at the lake. Could be a simple fix but have spent tons of time tinkering. Still stalls at idle but now will not run at all. Just checked out the spark at night and there is none if I grounded ok to the nuts holding cdi packs. I think Mercury has produced unreliable engines and should stand up and make it right when its wrong. I am in the building buisness and I warranty justified problems in manufacturing of homes hey its not done right warranty. Now I do not warranty some items thats outa my hands. I owned a 89 80hp Mercury and it worked much much better than my force so I think there is a problem with the force!

Didnt Chev get a recall on gas tanks and the pinto well the force is a much more serious problem than those. If there was a need for a Class Action Law suit I feel this would rank at the tops.

trouble is with these motor issues is that manufacturers don't have to answer to anyone after units are out of warranty. Not like issues with autos through the national highway traffic and safety administration.I recently had a complete new 2001 tranny put into a 1997 pathfinder that i've owned for six months at a local dealer at no charge to me because of a service bulliten .these are formulated from consumer complaints through NHTSA and manufacturers have legal obligations unlike outboard manufacturers.Even most outboard warranties are only 1 year ,not like a 60,000 mile drivetrain on auto and many consumers are left holding the bone.I personally had several quirks with my 1995 70 hp johnson after purchasing new that the dealer was unable to resolve. It was through trial and error that Iresolved some of them and others were resolved from the help of the good people on this forum and others like it.I wish you well in your plight.

" I feel your pain",man.
I'm with Dmessy as far as Force motors, and have stated my opinion here one too many times---so I won't belabor y'all with my opinion on them.
But I just wanted to empathise with you <sniff>,
I lost my 'workhorse' on the way to werk Tuesday.
Here she lies, in the bowels of a closed-for-the-weekend body shop, with the diagnosis of "total".
It is hard to believe that this tough little girl could be treminal, but that's what thier computer spit-out.
