I am in the process of restoring a shetland 498 possibly 77/79 model in the UK. At present it is fitted with a Selva 1979 350 20 hp engine. There are six wires coming from the engine to the ignition switch, however they are colour coded at the engine but at the ignition switch they are all black, but numbered 1 to 6. Can anyone tell me what are the six wires used for. According to selva they say that only 3 wires are used to start the engine. So what are the 3 other wires used for?<br />Can anyone shine any light on this.
