Broke fuel inlet nipple off carb!!

Inadvertently, I broke the nipple that connects the fuel line to the carb! It snapped clean off and left part of itself in the carb. I looked at parts lists and diagrams to find the replcement, but it seems to be a permanant non-replaceable part of the carb. I can see that it is its own piece, but permanantly placed. Anyone know of a good way to reattach without welding or a way to get the broken piece out and how to find a replacement?
It's a Tillotson H01B907 carb from a 9.9HP Gamefisher model #225.581991. Also, is there a technical name for this piece so I can stop calling it a fuel line nipple thingy?

Mabey a "fuel inlet barb fitting" or any combination of that and what you've got? (eg. fuel line barb, fuel barb fitting, fuel inlet thingy)

Do you have enough material around the old barb to drill and tap it out to 1/8" NPT and just thread in a brass barb from the plumbing department?

That sounds like a good plan Paul, the nipple is probably cast in, careful heat may help to remove it otherwise it'll have to be drilled.
It should be OK to just epoxy a new one in though rather than having to tap the hole.

Its a press fit...see if you can fit a small or cut/ground down hacksaw/jigsaw blade in there and saw a slot, Then a small drift and hammer it loose. Then see if you can find a new one to press in, or do the drill and tap. And stay away from any torch...just a tiny bit of gas in a passage way will singe your face good

Re: Broke fuel inlet nipple off carb!!

Thanks a lot, everyone.
After talking to auto parts stores, outboard repair shops and home depot, I was directed to a hose and fitting company in tampa. They found me a decent hose barb and machined to fit my carb! I highly recommend Amazon Hose and Rubber on 12th St. in downtown Tampa, for anyone that reads this. I was also able to get the old piece out by simply using a screw-out bit.
