Speed of 9.9 hp GameFisher

I just got my dads 9.9 GameFisher, he only had a few hours on it and I am getting ready to use it. I was just curious if anyone knows how fast this engine will make a 14' jon boat go with no weight in the boat?<br /><br />Thanks, Chris

Depending on your weight about 20 mph.

I just inherited my dads 9.9 gamefisher too! Took it out today for the first time - it hasn't been run in a year - and it would not start. Do you have the manual for yours? <br />Bought a brand new gas tank/lines for it from sears ...cost about $100 just in case you need the info. I am also using this on a 14 aluminum jon boat.

Seems like you have almost the exact same setup as I do. I have my 9.9 attached to a Jon Boat as well and I inherited my motor from my dad. He had his in the garage for almost 10 years and only put 2 hours on it so it is in pristine shape. I tried starting mine this weekend but I am figuring the carberator is clogged and I am trying to find out who makes this engine so I can get the carberator cleaned. Any ideas. <br />Also I do think I have the manual.

i have a 1996 gamefisher 15 hp and im pushing a 14' simi v all welded and i went faster with someone in the front then when i was in the rear just by myself. it has almost too much power. except im having a problem with fuel delivery with it. by the way i have 2 115 deep cycle batterys 12 beers lunch cooler livewell and a 180 lb chick in the front and i was afraid of overrevving in forward.

if its 91-96 its force which you can get parts through mercury parts direct

Thanks for the feedback, I went to the website it pulled up a dealer but it did not list Force. I believe the motor is 1994, so do you know who made the carberator, was it mercury? If so I assume there would be a mercury part number on it?

You may have luck with the parts lookup on the Sears website. Good luck! I had a 1991 Gamefisher 9.9, and it was a great little motor.
