I have a Sea King 6, Model VWB27006A, serial number 17X20706 that will not start, but when I can get it started (sometimes) it will not stay running. I have put on new fuel lines, new spark plugs with no improvement. Any suggestions?

Re: Sea King 6

Motor was made by chrysler in 1971. Chances are the carburator needs to be rebuilt. Carb kit 18-7037 can be purchased HERE . Would not hurt to rebuild the fuel pump as well. Click HERE Cost is about 30 dollars after you do this and replace all the hoses and is pretty simple to do. Would not hurt to do a compression test and spark test first to verify nothing serious is wrong.

Thank you for the information. I am going to order the parts for carb kit and fuel pump kit as you did suggest. Did do a compression test which showed the compression to be 45-50 in both cylinders. Is there a way to adjust the throttle linkage? The handle fell off and one of the gears popped off. Is there any way to adjust back to the orginial setting.

I am not familiar with the smaller chrylsers. I would recommend either the clymer manual or go to www.chryslercrew.com and order and download the parts and service manual for that motor. Chances are they will show how to re set the throttle.
