    Is it supposed to start like this?

    This is a 1971 50hp Johnson with "Hydro-Electric" drive. It is in neutral. Should it be doing this? (Dumb question, I'm sure, but I'm new to boats.) Please take a look at the following video of the boat starting up: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sucoyant/3849622512/ Thanks in advance.

    Does this mark on the cam mean neutral?

    TO be in neutral, does the little knob thing need to be UNDER that mark, or on it? Does that mark even indicate neutral? Thanks in advance!

    What does the Throttle Friction knob do?

    Sorry if this doesn't belong in this section. I wasn't sure where to post this. Anyway - On my 1971 Johnson control thing, there is a "throttle friction" knob. I can turn it, but have no idea what it's doing. Could someone give me some pointers? Thanks in advance.
