    rebuild or look for another?

    My 79 235hp evinrude took a ride on its own down the highway. Lower unit took a good hit and my question is replace lower unit? or look for another motor? I can get lower unit replaced for about $600, but who knows how long the power head will last. Is it worth it?<br />thanks

    evinrude lower unit

    Can the lower unit housing be welded? Boat decided to go for a joy ride without the truck or trailer and the lower unit sustained about a 3 inch long by 1/2 inch wide break on the front side. Also if anyone has a lower unit housing for a 78 235 evinrude I would be interested.<br />Thanks,
