Hi everyone,
1968 Sea King, 3.5 hp, working on resealing the lower unit...after I pulled out the driveshaft from the motor leg I noticed a bunch of black crispy crud on the top half of the driveshaft and all throughout the motor leg. Is this normal from exhaust buildup from previous years...
Hi everyone,
Anyone know where I can find a carb kit and lower unit seal kit for a 1968 Sea King 3.5 hp (Chrysler). Haven't had much luck searching online.
Thanks.
Flywheel is back on and everything is put back together, but I did take a few pics though. As you can see it was pretty dirty. I cleaned the point with 220 grit and gapped at .020. All cleaned up and running good now.
Hi everyone,
Trying to troubleshoot a "no spark" issue on a 1968 Sea King 3.5 hp (Chrysler?), but I'm not sure how to get the flywheel off. The 3 holes are not threaded. Help?
Thanks.
Update:
Found a welding shop to fix the skeg and they did a good job. For the other half, I filed the raised edges, filled in the grooves with Marine Tex, and then lightly sanded. Certainly doesn't look pretty, but it's smooth, hard, and flat, so I'm gonna go with it. Thanks again for the info.
