    Yeah pulled it. it was on there very tight on there. but it looks to be undamaged.

    So if it slipped a bit off the key or sheared the key, could the timing be off?

    I have checked all wiring and done a complete rebuild of the carb. everything is set right, there is strong spark and fuel getting to the cylinders.
