I have a 1984 Mercury 110 9.8 that I got with a boat I bought. Was told the trigger coil was bad. I ordered a new trigger and put it on. I still have no spark.
I tested the new trigger coil and it is within specs for ohms.
The stator was within spec for ohms but only put out around 80 volts...
Where can I find a new trigger coil for a 1984 mercury 9.8 hp?
If they don't make them anymore where can I find a used one and what should I look for to make sure I get a good one that one go out so soon (I know used is luck of the draw)?

The manual says to leave the top vent plug out and fill with lube through bottom drain plug until flows out top.
Why can't you just fill it through top vent hole until it overflows there? Wouldn't that achieve same result?What about the lube that flows out...
