I went to check on my boat after all this rain and my automatic bilge pump had crapped out. My boat
sunk in the marina. I pumped it out and got it to float again and rowed it to the launch.
I guess I'm looking for some advice on what to do. I refuse to start it until I get fresh oils in it but...

i found out the motor mount is sitting 1/2" low on drivers side (yes im new to boats). its a 454 in a chapparal villain3 and im not sure where to start.
will a piece of 1/4" plate be a good fix?
drill the holes for the studs coming up and lay the piece of 1/4" plate on the formed fiberglass...
i have a bravo 1 outdrive and i have been googling and searching these forums for direction on how to remove the upper half from the lower half of the lower unit. from pictures i have seen it looks like its just a few bolts but the parts finder pics arent very clear.

im looking at buying an outdrive on ebay and im wondering if there is a difference in the outdrive shafts between a 7.4L 454 and a 5.0/5.7L ?
i dont want to make the mistake of buying something off of ebay at around $2500+/- and not be able to get the shaft into the motor.
