Yamaha P60 outboard 2 stroke. After only about 2 mins at full throttle I heard metal on metal "clank" sound almost like I hit something with the prop but I felt nothing in my throttle hand. As I kept going it happened again about 20 seconds later so loud it scared me so I shut down the engine...
I have a Yamaha 60hp outboard and just did my first water pump rebuild.
When I put the lower unit back, I made sure both the drive lever and dowel gear were both at the neutral positions.
Battery is fully charged. The motor will not turn over in the neutral position or any position.
