    '73 4HP Johnson lower unit drain/fill ??

    Bot this motor now I want to drain and refill the lower unit. I can find only ONE plug. Is this used to drain AND fill ??? I'm used to having both an upper hole and the lower drain plug. I feel a little dumb, but I want to do this correctly. Thanks

    1959 35HP: armature plate stripped threads!

    I know it's "pot metal" but still managed to strip threads in the armature plate where the hold-down screw for one set of points attaches. Now,it will not tighten. Any suggestions? I don't think epoxy would work. Anyone ever re-tap oversize and use a larger screw? Open for suggestions. New...

    1959 35hp Flywheel torque?

    Torque has been stated as 105 foot lbs here, but my new SELOC repair manual lists "720-780 inch/lb" which would be 60-65 foot pounds. That is for 1957-59 35HP. The 33hp and 40hp in the 1960's have the 105 ft/lb spec.<br /><br />If there weren't such a big difference I wouldn't be concerned, but...

    Plug wires '59 Sea Horse

    What is the best replacement plug wire for 35HP (1959) model? Will I have to make a set? Can I use automobile sets or is there marine grade wire? Who sells the wire, boots, etc. in case I need to make a new set? Thanks.

    While waiting for my manual to arrive, I am wondering about "kill switch" wiring. Is it possible that a safety circuit is open that will not allow the ignition to work?     I bought points and condenser kit for motor and find included: felt (cam oiler?) and a small piece of paper. What is the paper used for? I have not yet obtained a manual. Novice with old motors. Thanks
