Bot this motor now I want to drain and refill the lower unit. I can find only ONE plug. Is this used to drain AND fill ??? I'm used to having both an upper hole and the lower drain plug. I feel a little dumb, but I want to do this correctly. Thanks
I know it's "pot metal" but still managed to strip threads in the armature plate where the hold-down screw for one set of points attaches. Now,it will not tighten. Any suggestions? I don't think epoxy would work. Anyone ever re-tap oversize and use a larger screw? Open for suggestions. New...
Torque has been stated as 105 foot lbs here, but my new SELOC repair manual lists "720-780 inch/lb" which would be 60-65 foot pounds. That is for 1957-59 35HP. The 33hp and 40hp in the 1960's have the 105 ft/lb spec.<br /><br />If there weren't such a big difference I wouldn't be concerned, but...
