    Mariner will only attain half throttle

    My '89 Mariner 40hp 2cyl starts perfectly, idles good and great hole shot, however after about a 1/2 mile running smooth and strong the engine bogs down and I can only attain half throttle, it still runs good but as soon as I try to throttle up it bogs down again and will run only at half...

    whats the proper setting on idle screws?

    I just purchased a 40EL 2 cyl. Mariner and it idles rough, I want to try and adjust the idle screws but not sure how. I've always heard turn them in all the way then back them up to the highest idle, is this right? or how many turns back would suffice? It runs perfect above idle.
