Gimbal bearing removed using a home made threaded puller. - No problem.
Can only get behind the rubber part of the gimbal bearing seal. - Problem - metal ring on seal will not budge.

First time replacing replacing distributor cap on a Mercruiser 1999 5.0L 305CID with Thunderbolt ignition.
I followed the markings on the distributor cap for the wires. I used the REV markings and looking from the top of the cap, the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 reading counter clock wise...

With two people the boat runs WOT at 4100RPM at 36MPH with a 14.5X17P 3-blade Michigan AL prop. (prop rebuilt recently.)
With 6 people and 35 gal fuel, the boat will not make it past...
