    1999 mercury problem

    i have a 1999 25 hp mercury 2 stroke motor. i was recently out on the lake and it started to go dead when i gave it gas and now it will only idle. i have heard that it is could be that the carburetor could have junk in it. how do i fix this or what else could it possibly be?
