I am trying to troubleshoot an intermittent misfire. I bought a cable off ebay, with a triangular connector ... doesn't fit my engine (which I think is a Suzuki manufactured unit).
I've attached a photo of the diagnostic lug in the hope that someone will suggest the correct cable for the unit!
I am a computer person, and so have looked at my 2000 Evinrude 70HP 4-stroke to see if I can read data from it. It is running fine, but I'd like to monitor the unit and also recover hours, etc. eBay has a lot of Evinrude cables/SW deals, but they all show a triangular 3 (or 9) pin connector...
The engine had a very weak telltale and would overheat about 3000 RPM. Lower rubber seals all rotted. Once change, water was flowing from the water tube as it enters the gear case. So, I have to remove the exhaust housing to replaced that seal as well ... it ain't easy.
