I sprayed a bunch of the starbrite mildew cleaner onto the foam and left it on the roof of my shed in the all day and it looks like it got the majority of it, no more smell or weird dark spots!
I'm in the process of replacing a curved bow seat in the front because the wood backing was rotted. The piece is all made up and is epoxied, next step is to attach the foam with a plastic covering to keep water from getting absorbed.
Some of the rotted wood is still attached to the back of the...
I actually stood out in the rain just to see how effective the waterproofing treatment and j gutters were and they work pretty well, the majority of the rain that rolls down the windshield gets caught by the gutters and directed off the side of the boat and the water proofing is beading it off...
i see that but it looks like all of those one piece covers are meant to use it while on the trailer, is there a certain keyword I should search for where I would find a cover that goes on the boat when its in the water?
I am scoping through a manual that I found that is for my engine and before i put my boat back on the water again I wanna make sure any alarms or safeties are working properly. The manual just says
"Maintenance inspection is the owner’s responsibility and must be performed at intervals...
Same age as the main cover, I do see one rip at the front but thats not where the water is coming it, I doesnt look like its coming through the window but i will check this weekend and update everyone
I'm in the midst of redoing the passenger front seat because the back of the seat was rotted, it looks like when it rains in runs down the window, then under the bow cover and in behind the seat.
I've added these J gutters from amazon that helped greatly in catching the water coming down the...

yea same here the edges werent glassed and the water snuck in. I had a look under and the rot only goes about 3-4 inches from the ski locker, nothing else is rotted. Past that 5 inches, the floor is solid. And the ski locker is entirely glassed. I cant see any exposed stringers. How do i tell
I just uncovered my boat for the first winter after I bought it, its a 1995 Sea Ray 180, im currently in the process of fixing the passenger front bow seat because the wood on the backing of the seat is rotten. Walking up and down the boat i noticed that the area withing a couple inches of the...
just as a test you should get a long wire that can handle the amperage and connect it to the closest ground terminal to the ignition system all the way to the negative on the battery.
corroded terminals anywhere on the ignition system like grounds or positives. I had an issue on my 1995 sea ray where the battery wasnt charging i was getting good ( a little high voltage) out of it and spent so much time on the wiring system only to find out one of the connectors was holding on...
