I have a 1983 evinrude 140 Model E140TRXCTE. It has been sitting for 3 years, but last year I cleaned and rebuilt carbs Intake manifold, silancer etc..., rebuilt fuel pump (which is leaking I think out of center mounting screw so maybe I forgot an oring there). I completly tore down trim/tilt...
So I got 1 of my T/T all disassembled and realized the trim piston rebuilt kit is not included in the rebuilt kit (0393942) which is a PITA as I now have to wait for it to come before I can reassemble this. Trim units are from 1983 140hp and 1984 120hp evinrudes. Both look to be exactly the same...
I am doing a bunch of work to my motor and one of the things I wanted to do is replace the cracked red "manual valve" on my primer solenoid.

I bought a lower end/trim/mount unit (basically everything but the top end) with serial number E120TXCO.
Will this fit on my 83 top end serial number E140TRXCT?
I thought it would, but now I want to make sure before I attempt it.

Well im new here, but I figured I'd try my luck as I am compleatly ignored on the Whaler forum.
So I got a 18.5' Boston Whaler with an Evinrude 140. Both are 83' I assume.
I beleive the Whaler is a GTX, but not sure as it is a bow rider not a center console.
So far with the engine to get it...
