    Mercruiser 5.7 Won't Idle

    I have a 1998 Bayliner 2355 5.7 Litre Mercruiser with Thunderbolt ingnition. Outdrive is a Alpha One. The boat will not sit at idle when either cold or after being run. Simply stalls out.     Heat Exchanger Anode

    I think I need to change heat exchanger anode on mercruiser 5.7 l engine. Do you normally drain the antifreeze out prior to doing this? When reinstalling is teflon tape enough or is something else required. I'm usually 50/50 salt/fresh water. What type of anode? Aluminum?<br /><br />Thanks

    Hour Meter Failure

    Iv' got a VDO combo TACH/Hour meter. The hour meter has quit. Tach still works perfectely. The boat is powered by a 1999 5.0 mercruiser. Normally aspirated, Does anyone know where the hour meter is connected to the engine. Fuses all appear to be intact.<br /><br />Thanks
