hello a bought a 7.5 hp 2 stroke it worked well and sounded good when the man sold it to me but now i cant even pull the starter string out it seems to be stuck in gear but the gear selecter moves into reverse but not neutral but when in forward it makes a clicking noise can anyone help
what a scam we are fed up of it petrol or gas as u callit in the us couldd be about 5 to 6 pounds a gallon this year dont hold much hope of a lot of boating this year have to get me oars out the fuel stations only make about 6p a ltr the rest goes to gorvernment and petrol companies
hi can someone help here i tried starting my 50hp johnson but had no ignition click so i replaced the solinoid still no click so i replaced the fuse now i have a click but no startermotor could it be dodgey starter motor the engine is about 1981 ps i checked all the wires and they seem to be ok

went to look at my engine started her up she back fired once then started she ran then cut out and back fired an engineer was there and he said it sounded like timing and dont run it any more where do i start with the this?
we recently went out and broke down but we had aspare engine to get back in and aradio and flares which fortunatly we didnt have to use but saying this no one checks to see wether you have got all this and i think you should be checked we passed 2 or 3 police patrol boats and not one even tried...
eventualy we started the 50hp seahorse up but it keeps overrevving then cutting out when we let off the rev handle the man down the boat shop and he said take off the manual choke but that didnt work can anyone say what we are doing wrong
i recently made afloor for my shetland 535 because we had carpet down before and it was getting a bit smelly so i made a false deck out of 9mm marine ply and tanalised batons with floor vinyl instead should be alot easier to keep clean
i ve recently purchased a johnson 50hp elec start when i bought it it started and ran but on the last test it wouldnt start eg i pumped the fuel bulb and pumped the carb could i have flooded it ? also does it matter which way round the remote connecters go?
i recenty got a 50hp it ran when we bought it but now we can start it then it cuts out and wont start again is because we are flooding it or does it need to be connected to the battery all the time as we havent any proper battery connections yet and someone has to hold the connections on to start it
