Thought I'd show my progress on my Sunbird. I am the 2nd owner of this fresh water boat. Replaced floors and most stringers which was soooooooo much fun! Outdrive rebuilt, tons of motor work and now a fresh Fighting Lady Yellow paint job from Total Boats of RI.
Ok- stupid question I know but need to find correct answer- When installing a new Impeller (OMC drive) which way should the fins be facing when looking at installed Impeller-meaning, the fins are curved to left or right? I have seen videos of both ways and can't find a definitive answer.

When 1st starting and warming up temp gauge goes to "hot" then it appears Thermostat opens and temp drops like a rock to normal- boat will run all day and not go back to hot.
Replaced Thermostat thinking stuck or defective....nope....same issue...
I have a 1989 3.0 in a larson. Merc 2 bbl carb with the 90 degree accelerator pump. I am rebuilding the carb but I did not see 2 things in the bottom of the accelerator pump cylinder. No screen and no check ball. There is a very small area towards the rear of the cylinder where it looks like a...
At just above idle 1000-2000 rpm it misses stalls and shakes.
I have -changed all fuel filters, water filter, plugs, wires, accelerator pump and cleaned carb as best as I could. Put multiple carb cleaners, seafoam into tank and carb to no avail.
I can get the timing to have it run good at idle...
